Vinod Kambli's Health Status: Cricketer Stable After Hospitalization
Vinod Kambli, the former India cricketer, is reportedly stable after being admitted to a private hospital in Thane due to health complications. The 52-year-old cricketer was rushed to the facility on Saturday night, initially complaining of symptoms such as urinary infections and cramps. However, further medical investigations revealed that Kambli had suffered from clots in his brain, which raised serious concerns regarding his health.
Kambli Expresses Gratitude to Medical Team
In a statement to PTI, Kambli thanked the medical staff for their efforts in keeping him alive. “It is because of the doctor here that I am alive… All I would say is that I will do whatever sir (referring to the doctor) asks me to. People will see the inspiration that I’ll give them…” Kambli said in a brief video message, expressing his appreciation for the treatment he is receiving.
The Role of Fans and Medical Team in Kambli’s Treatment
The former cricketer was admitted to a hospital in Bhiwandi’s Kalher area in Thane district, with the help of one of his fans who owns the medical facility. According to Dr. Vivek Trivedi, who is overseeing Kambli’s treatment, the tests revealed the presence of clots in his brain, and he is being carefully monitored. Kambli will undergo further examinations on Tuesday to assess his condition.
“When he was admitted on Saturday, he was having massive cramps along with fever and dizziness. He was not able to sit, walk, and was drowsy at the time of admission,” Dr. Trivedi explained to Hindustan Times.

During the event, he appeared frail, where he was seen alongside his childhood friend and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
Support from Fellow Cricketers and Hospital Commitment
In addition to the medical team’s efforts, Kambli has received support from fellow cricketers like Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar. The duo has extended financial help to Kambli, contingent on his willingness to undergo rehabilitation. Moreover, S Singh, the in-charge of the hospital, has reportedly decided to offer Kambli life-long free treatment as part of the support he is receiving during this challenging time.
