Allrounder Ravindra Jadeja showcased his resilience with a crucial half-century, keeping India’s hopes alive in the fourth Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane. Jadeja reached his 22nd Test fifty during the rain-affected second session on Tuesday, ensuring that India stayed in the fight against the hosts.
Jadeja’s Knock and Trademark Celebration

Jadeja achieved his milestone by taking a single off the fifth delivery of the 50th over, bowled by Mitchell Starc. His iconic sword celebration followed, symbolizing his fighting spirit in challenging circumstances. India faced a daunting task to save the match after a top-order collapse left the team reeling.
The situation worsened when captain Rohit Sharma departed early, leaving India struggling at 74/5. However, KL Rahul and Jadeja formed a vital partnership, adding 67 runs for the sixth wicket. Rahul scored a determined 84 before being dismissed by a stunning one-handed catch from Steve Smith at first slip. Nitish Reddy joined Jadeja at the crease, starting his innings with an elegant boundary.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy Intensifies
The five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy is finely poised at 1-1. India secured a commanding 295-run victory in Perth, only for Australia to level the series with a dominant 10-wicket win in the day-night Test at Adelaide Oval.
In the third Test, India’s captain Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first. Riding on centuries from Travis Head (152) and Steve Smith (101), Australia posted a formidable 445 in their first innings. India’s response was underwhelming as the top order, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Rohit Sharma, managed just 27 runs collectively. Starc and Cummins exploited the conditions effectively, taking two wickets each to dismantle India’s batting lineup.
