Jadeja reached his 22nd Test fifty during the rain-affected second session on Tuesday, ensuring that India stayed in the fight against the hosts.

Jadeja achieved his milestone by taking a single off the fifth delivery of the 50th over, bowled by Mitchell Starc. His iconic sword celebration followed, symbolizing his fighting spirit in challenging circumstances. India faced a daunting task to save the match after a top-order collapse left the team reeling.
The situation worsened when captain Rohit Sharma departed early, leaving India struggling at 74/5. However, KL Rahul and Jadeja formed a vital partnership, adding 67 runs for the sixth wicket. India’s response was underwhelming as the top order, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Rohit Sharma, managed just 27 runs collectively.
